Welcome to my personal site!
I am Victor Gubanov, live in Rochester, Minnesota and
work at Mayo Clinic as a software developer.
I enjoy many things in life. This includes travelling,
camping and hiking in the mountains. In August of 2009 I did part of the
GR5 ("Grande Randonnée 5") multi-day hike from the Lake Geneva to Nice in the French
Alps. The hike took 18 days. I was sending brief daily trip reports to my family and friends from my Black
Jack II cell phone.
After the GR5 I had a great time joining my sister, brother-in-law and my nephew in exploring Austria,
the Czech Republic and Germany. I

In August 2010 I spent two weeks in Japan.
During this vacation I visited several cities (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima), climbed Mount Fuji and did a 5-day trek of the Japan Northern Alps.
As on previous trips I was sending
